Job description
In the role of Technology Lead,You will play an important role in creating the high level design artifacts. You will also deliver high quality code deliverables for a module, lead validation for all types of testing and support activities related to implementation, transition and warranty.
Location for this position can be Kolkata.
Work under the guidance of data architects or SMEs to analyze and understand the BI reporting requirements
Create technical specifications for BI reporting
Develop in Tableau to generate various visualization based reports and dashboards
Be responsible for Business Objects reports and universe architecture and design
Develop in Business Objects (BI4.1) to generate ad-hoc reports, canned/standard reports, and dashboards as per the specifications
Apply BI best practices during development with a strong focus on reusability and better performance
Mentor others in BI usage when required
Produce well written documentation for unit testing and integration testing of the components developed
Keep other designers, team leads and project managers well informed of progress and results
Provide estimates based on analysis of report specifications and BRD
Validate scope, plans and deliverables for assigned projects.
Desired Skills and Experience
Qualifications Basic
Bachelorâs degree or foreign equivalent required. Will also consider one year of relevant work experience in lieu of every year of education
At least 2-3 years of experience with DW/BI and related tools
At least 1-2 years of experience with Business Objects, Data quality and Metadata related tools
Understanding of basic and Advanced concepts of Business Objects
Mandatory Technical Skills
3+ years of experience with SAP Business Objects 4.1 as an administrator and developer (Universe design and Report Development)
Experience in designing and implementing BI reporting
Translate business requirements to technical specifications in terms of BO universe and report design
Ability to design universes from star schema (with slowly changing dimensions) & snow flake schema databases/data warehouses
Experience in BO SDK implementation (for custom interfaces, scheduling and related activities)
3+ years dashboards and data visualization development using Tableau Exposure to data modeling tools and concepts
3+ years of solid experience in SQL Server (including versions 2008 & above) & Oracle (including 10G & above) PL/SQL programming, SQL Server stored procedures, VB scripting
Experience with high volume of data
Experience in performance tuning of BO Universes, and relational databases especially Oracle and SQL Server
Strong verbal, presentation, and written communication skills
Ability to self-manage timelines and deliverables and also work in a team environment

Plan and lead requirement analysis sessions with business users involving ETL(Informatica/AbiNitio) tools
Define and lead the ETL tool based solution architecture
Involved in ETL(Informatica/AbiNitio) Design, Configuration experience in ETL(Informatica/AbiNitio)
Capacity of designing solutions around ETL(Informatica/AbiNitio), with advanced skills in high performance and parallelism in ETL(Informatica/AbiNitio).
Understands and leverages enterprise architecture principles for cross-functional purposes.
Be the point of contact with the Enterprise Architecture area.
Participates in products roadmap planning, recommending technologies and solutions Identifies and proposes new opportunities for data integration and possible SOA implementations
Consults with business representatives and work with the Business Analyst to ensure understanding of the business requirements and future strategic direction of the business/function

Ability to validate business use cases for accuracy and completeness
Strong Oracle/DB2 skills required
